Bursting with fresh cherry aroma with earthy notes, sweet leather, and sandalwood. On the palate, this blend showcases blackberry jam, fresh fig, milk chocolate, graham cracker, and a hint of cherry limeade finishing with vanilla crème soda, plum, and candied tangerine peel.
Our Leese-Fitch Red Blend from the 2014 vintage is a strong blend of rich, fruit forward varietals a complex structure. The Petite Sirah comes from Lodi and Clarksburg, adding an element of both warm and cold climate fruit, while the Syrah comes from the Dunnigan Hills outside of Sacramento, adding blackberry fruit with a gamey edge. Paso Robles adds a dab of Syrah, Merlot, Petite Sirah, and Zinfandel to add some Paso Terrior to the blend and Lodi Zinfandel and Merlot softens the mouthfeel, adding some red berry notes. Merlot from Mendocino adds cooler climate notes with blueberry fruit and ripe tannins for a lingering finish and Paso Barbera adds some berry fruit and softness. Lastly, Lake County Mourvèdre adds fresh fig notes and a slight fresh leather note that you can pick up on the aroma and finish. The sum of all these parts creates a blend of dark black fruit with complex angles on the mid-pallet and finishes with supple tannins and bright acidity.
This wine is a great aperitif with some cheeses and fresh fruit. With bright acidity and brilliant fruitiness, this wine is an easy pairing for many meals - grilled chicken over a spinach salad topped with strawberries and a balsamic vinaigrette, Hawaiian pizza with or without jalapeños or a garden fresh pasta sauce over your favorite noodle.
