TASTING NOTES
This wine’s aroma is complex, with brambly fruit notes of raspberry, blackberry and cherry pie filling. Savory hints of cedar, dried basil, and blackstrap molasses follow. The palate reveals blackberry compote, dried cherry, and chocolate covered blueberries followed by toasted coconut and mulling spices. The finish has medium length with hints of vanilla.

WINEMAKER NOTES
This was an impressive vintage for Zinfandel in Lodi. The crop was relatively small and on older vines, leading to a blend with very good character and depth. We added Lodi Petite Sirah for structure, along with a touch of Lodi Merlot for softness and bright berry fruit. Lastly, just a touch of San Joaquin County Ruby Cabernet contributed dark color. Aging in new American oak added further complexity, with vanilla and toasted coconut notes. This is a rich and layered Zinfandel that brings the fruit to any party or gathering.

FOOD PAIRINGS
A good pairing for this wine would be pulled pork sliders with sweet potato fries, your favorite burger topped with bacon or chile rellanos with Mexican rice and stewed pinto beans.
